Rangitoto College is a very proud and inclusive basketball school boasting 27 teams in 2023 and approximately 290+ keen and enthusiastic students. Teams range from social to highly competitive and there is room for absolutely everyone to participate and/or compete in.
We are pleased to announce that Mike Robinson has assumed a leadership role as our Director of Basketball, steering us towards a new and positive direction.
Mike brings a wealth of experience and passion to this role, and we are confident that under his guidance, our basketball endeavors will reach new heights. We are eager to embark on this transformative journey and are committed to delivering an outstanding basketball experience for all involved.
Our Premier boys and girls teams are led by two very successful, high level of experience coaches in Nathan Hanna (boys) and Brooke Blair (girls)
Both teams compete in the Auckland Secondary Schools competition administered by College Sport, and all remaining teams play in the Harbour Basketball competition
A fee will be charged to the parent portal to cover the cost of registration to College Sport, Harbour Sport association fees, administration fees and equipment. Basketball uniforms (singlets and shorts) must be purchased from the school Uniform Shoppe.
Notices regarding trials, practice times, games and results will be posted on the Basketball noticeboard outside the Sports’ Office and will be updated regularly on our Sports Instagram page.
Look forward to working with you all
All teams train on our school premises. Gyms 1,2 or 3.
As we fall under the Harbour Basketball umbrella, the majority of our games are at EFS (Eventfinda Stadium) AUT Northcote, or YMCA Northcote and it is the student’s responsibility to get to and from both trainings and games.
Our Senior Premier teams have 8 teams in their division and play them twice – both home and away games against each of these schools.
All basketball players are expected to find their own way to their basketball games
